Environment

For Christians, stewardship of God’s creation is non-negotiable. Environmental issues deserve a well-informed and thoroughly Christian response. 

Many of the solutions offered to the environmental problems we face are nothing more than thinly veiled arguments for statism, population control, and limits on development. Solutions to an environmental problem that trap the poor in their poverty are not solutions. Solutions which advocate population control (which almost always includes abortion on demand) are also not solutions.

The Bible sees human procreation and human industry as positive goods. IRD works to advocate a social witness on the environment which elevates human beings, lifting them from poverty and pollution. IRD rejects the dangerous misanthropy of modern environmentalist ideologies. In contrast, we promote an environmentalism which affirms that humans and human activity are valuable, worthy, and, in fact, indispensable in God’s good plan for this good Earth.
